THE PROJECT

Mi Casa Loca is an entire re-branding of Flowers Foods' tortilla brand, Mi Casa. The brand team wanted to take on a fun, edgy look and attitude. A new logo, packaging, displays, and brand standards inspired by Dia de Muertos were developed.

LOGO DEVELOPMENT

The main focus in generating new logo concepts was to have something drastically different from the original logo, with a more playful personality. Iteration upon the initial logo concepts led to the final logo as well as secondary versions. The name of the brand was changed to Mi Casa Loca.

SETTING GUIDELINES

The new logo represented a repositioning of the brand as a whole. A new style guide was created to set the guidelines that should be used when working with the brand to maintain consistent usage of the new identity.

CREATING PACKAGING

Part of the appeal of the logo was how it could be integrated into the package. It has a huge presence on the packaging, and the bold new colors make the products stand out.

DISCERNING PRODUCTS

One feature of Mi Casa Loca's logo is that it can be modified to match the product it is displaying. In the case of the flavored tortilla line, a pattern is laid on top of parts of the logo.

DISPLAYING PRODUCT

Corrugate cases were developed to display the tortillas in an organized way. The cases can be placed on the shelf or on pallets.
